Yu Lin passed away peacefully from acute leukemia on September 24, 2012 in Richmond BC at the age of 91.
Predeceased by his wife of 58 years Marguerite in 2004, he will be deeply missed by his 8 loving daughters Raina (Nick), Clementine (Paul), Veronica (William), Josephine (Michael), Pauline (Wally), Diana (Chris), Elizabeth (Wayne) and Susannah (David), and his 9 adoring grandchildren Stephanie, Melissa, Christina, Jillian, Jennifer, Alexa, Andrew, Jessica and Samantha.
From his years as an educator in Malaysia through to his service with the Government of Canada as an interpreter, Yu Lin had a great appreciation for language, culture and learning. He enjoyed sharing his experiences and was a fascinating storyteller. He had a passion for travel and visited all corners of the globe in his career and most importantly with his family. Yu Lin led a full life touching many hearts, inspiring many imaginations and leaving a legacy behind that is treasured by all who met and knew him. His incredible generosity, love of family and adventure, and quiet charm and grace will be sadly missed by all.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of 3 North at Richmond Hospital, for their tireless care, compassion and attention toward our father. His family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Yu Lin's Life on Sunday September 30, 2012 at 2pm at Gilmore Park United Church, 8060 No 1 Road, Richmond BC, (604) 277-5377.
