Irene Poskitt April 4, 1916 - January 1, 2013 Irene passed away peacefully at age 96, surrounded by family. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Guy Poskitt, and by her dear siblings Muriel, Cyril, Dorothy, and Audrey. Mother will be remembered with deep love and gratitude by her sons and daughters: David (Anthea), Julie, Patti (Kirk), and Mark, and by her grandchildren Lucy, Nicola, Carmen and Ben. Irene was a beacon of encouragement and joy, and an example of skill, verve and courage for hundreds of students of art, calligraphy, and life. Her family, many friends, and an assortment of creatures great and small were nourished in the warm light and fresh air of her wisdom, generosity, and unfailing belief in the uniqueness and beauty of every individual. Many will remember Irene from her teaching activities on the North Shore and in Vancouver, and from the summer neighbourhood she loved at Point Roberts, WA. We thank Cedarview Lodge where she spent her final years charming all. Most of all we extend our affection and endless thanks to her caregiver Bella for her loyal and loving companionship to Mom throughout her last years. Irene implored all to believe: "You are LOVED." If you have received inspiration from her, please consider a donation to a charity where Irene's legacy of encouragement and kindness will be passed along.
