Ronald Hilton Slade King February 15, 1924 - May 19, 2013 Ronald (Ron) King passed away on May 19 in Victoria, BC at age 89. He leaves behind his son John, daughter Linda, Son-in-law Barron and his much-loved grandson, Tyson. Ron was born in Vancouver and served on the RCAF high-speed rescue vessels Takuli and Squamish during WWII. After the war he became a well-known and respected Vancouver realtor and served on the real estate council of BC for 8 years. He was also past Commander of the Vancouver Power and Sail Squadron and was an avid boater and fisherman. He retired to Victoria to be closer to his family in 1991. His retirement years were filled with travel and he made many friends in many countries over the years. He will be remembered and loved for his kindness, his giving nature, and his sense of humour and quick wit. The family would like to thank the Lions Cove Assisted Living Residence and the Lodge at Broadmead for the kind and compassionate care he received in the last phase of his life. A memorial service will held on June 7. At his request, a donation in his memory to the Children's Wish Foundation of BC would be appreciated.
