Marion Isobel died on March 16, 2014 at nearly 101 years of age. She loved unconditionally - a lively, thoughtful, often politically incorrect, compassionate doer. A graduate from Magee High School, she supported the Canouver Club and their work with children with cerebral palsy. She actively participated in P.E.O., an organization dedicated to women's education. Marion lent her spirited leadership to many programs at Ryerson United and Kerrisdale Presbyterian. Her working life included Western Bridge & Steel Co. and Manning Construction. Born on April 28, 1913 in Indian Head, SK, Marion's childhood included 5 brothers and 2 sisters. The family settled in Vancouver where she married her first husband Cyril Flack on opening day of the duck season in 1936! They had two daughters, Jo Anne and Susan, and welcomed sons-in-law, Arnold Bennett and Ralph Marshall. Widowed after 45 years of marriage, she wed Mervin Ferguson in 1983, sharing 18 years of companionship. Marion loved her family, enjoying 7 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She happily made her home at Gilmore Gardens for the past 13 years. Family and friends will dearly miss her. A Celebration of Marion's life will be held at Gilmore Gardens, 4088 Blundell Road, Richmond, BC on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
