HARRISON, Anita Evangeline
Anita Evangeline Harrison (Horsley) of Nakusp, B.C., passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 8, 2014, in Surrey, B.C., at the age of 94 years. Anita "Biz", was born in Revelstoke, B.C. on September 29, 1919 to George and Bertha Horsley. She is predeceased by her parents, brother Harold, sisters Ruth Carpenter, Louise Brown, Betty Lytle and her late husband, Norman Harrison. Anita grew up in the small town of Nakusp, B.C. She married Norman Harrison, also of Nakusp, and moved to Vancouver where he left for the war and she went to secretarial school. She worked for the Leckie Shoe Company while Norman was away and after his return and university. A son, Michael was born in 1948 and she eventually became a homemaker. She loved being surrounded by family and friends. She was the consummate mother but the life of the party! Her home was a welcoming place for the many who stayed with her over the years. She also enjoyed some traveling especially to Reno where she would stay up all hours of the night playing blackjack. Tennis and ice skating would also keep her riveted to the TV for days! Survivors include sons, Michael (Paula), Peter (Gail), Robert (Ingrid) and daughter, Debbie (James); grandchildren, Michelle and Melissa Taylor, Alexander, Adam, and Grace Harrison and Melanie and Carley Harrison. Private Services and burial will be held at Oceanview Cemetary on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 3 - 6 p.m. at the Ocean Park Community Hall, 1577 – 128th Street, Surrey.
