ROBERTS, Arthur Sidney
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Art at Burnaby Hospital, Palliative Care Ward. He fought a brave fight but succumbed to cancer on April 27, 2014. Born in Prince Albert, SK on June 21, 1928, he is predeceased by his mother, Mary Elizabeth, father William Frank, brother Dick, and is survived by wife Joan, sister Margaret Lyons, daughter Judy Rothwell, son Barry Roberts (Colleen), daughter Susan Lowrie (Ian), grandchildren Kristine, Austin, Mark, Eric, Leah (Chris), and Brian, and great-grandchildren Liam and Vie, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Art was a genuinely kind and caring person who loved to be busy and "participate" in life. He will be missed by all who knew him, including extended family, lifelong friends from the North Shore Winter Club, neighbors at Tudor Village, and friends at Royal City Curling Club, West Point Golf Club, and Confederation Center. A celebration of Art's life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 am at Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
