HUMPHRY, Frederick James
February 23, 1923 - July 26, 2014
On July 26, 2014 our beloved father passed away. He was predeceased by his first wife Patricia, his second wife Aileen and his son Mark. Dad will lovingly be remembered for his kindness, generosity and devotion to his family by his son Jay (Cheryl) and his daughter Tricia (Dave). We will miss his quick wit, sense of humour and engaging stories. He was born in Edmonton on February 23, 1923. The family moved to Ladner when he was a teenager. Dad served as an R.C.A.F. pilot during WWII, stationed in Burma. When he came home, he married Patricia Tancock and became a long serving member of the Vancouver Police Department. When he retired from the force, he served as a sheriff for a few years. Then he met and married Aileen Richardson. Family meant everything to Dad. He liked nothing more than to have a big party, inviting lots of relatives and friends. Dad took great pride in his home and yard, working for hours on some task or chore. He was a wonderful handyman. Thank you to the caring staff at Cedar Springs, Shylo Nursing and Home Healthcare and Lions Gate Hospital. Dad's Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Dad's favourite charities, The Salvation Army or the local Food Bank.
