LUNDELL QC, John O. E. 1939 - 2010 It is with very sad and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother John Lundell. John lost his dignified and courageous battle with cancer on August 21, 2010. He will be greatly missed by his wife Marie, his children Lisa (Roy), Susan (Zen), Mike (Tracey) and Andrea (Michael) as well as his grandchildren Matthew, Caily, Emily, Laura, Chloe and Charlie, his sister Susan (Baird) and all his many friends and colleagues. He is predeceased by his father Oscar, his mother Freda and his beloved Irish Terrier Riley. John practised law for 45 years and was a very strong influence and mentor of the corporate law community. He began his practise at his father's firm Lawson, Lundell, Lawson & McIntosh and for the past four years at Stikeman Elliott where he made a lot of new and special friends. John was a voracious reader and managed to put together a very large library of English history and histories of the two World Wars. He and his wife Marie took many trips to his favourite part of the world, England, where he toured all the cathedrals, abbeys and churches he could find. John was a true anglophile. He spent many a happy hour out on Kits Point with Riley making all sorts of new doggy friends, both canine and human. His generosity and love of dogs was well known in the community and he is and will be sorely missed by everyone. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Unit at VGH and Marion Hospice for all their loving and caring attention and for making his life as comfortable and carefree as possible. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the B.C. Cancer Agency or the SPCA. A reception will be held at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club at a future date to drink a toast and remember a very special and wonderful man.
