KENNEDY, Nancy Martin (nee Boultbee)
October 23, 1931 - March 12, 2012
It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Nancy Kennedy on Monday, March 12. Nancy was born and raised in Vancouver, went to Prince of Wales, Crofton House and was a Gamma Phi Beta at UBC. Her ultimate joy was to spend time at her summer home at Qualicum Beach with family and great lifelong friends. Dogs were a large part of Nancy's life with at least one or two always at her side. She took an interest in conversing with everyone. Nancy's associations were with the Junior League, many bridge groups, travel groups, "girlfriends," Music in the Morning, and Point Grey Golf Club where she was planning on working on her short game this summer. Family parties at her home of 52 years were common, the most recent one being on Sunday, March 4. Nancy leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years, Bill, her daughters Susan Macdonald (Rob), Barb Kemp (Rob) and Jane Kennedy Bell-Irving (John), and her many beloved grandchildren John, Meryl, Angus and Stuart Macdonald, Andrew and Scott Kemp, Rachael and Matthew Bell-Irving and her faithful dog Laura. Nancy is predeceased by her sister Elizabeth (Bobbie) Arbuckle, her brother John Boultbee, her mother Helen Jeanette, and her father Leonard Boultbee. Nancy is survived by her sister Pat Gilley, sister-in-law Helen Boultbee and many nieces and nephews that make up the Boultbee clan. Thanks for all the wonderful memories Mom! A service will be held at St. Johns Shaughnessy Church, 1490 Nanton and Granville Street on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart and Stroke foundation would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the VGH Cardiac Unit for their exceptional care and attention.
