DOODSON, Charles William
May 5, 1918 - April 15, 2012
Charles "Chuck" William Doodson passed away peacefully early Sunday morning April 15, 2012 just three weeks shy of his 94th birthday. What a life! What a man! Chuck carried an unbridled appreciation for life and devoted respect for all he shared his with. Enthusiastic, compassionate, understanding, loving and determined are just a few of the words that best describe our beloved and unforgettable Chuck; a very elegant, considerate and charming man. We marvel at his honourable Air Force service record, his successful 50+ year career with Cunningham Drug Stores and Shoppers Drug Mart, his ability to play handball until the age of 86 (did I say determined?!); and took comfort from the music he shared through his beautiful piano playing. Most admirable of all was the loyalty and the never-wavering love he offered his family and friends unconditionally. What a rock. Chuck will be sadly missed but loved and honoured forever by surviving family, friends and former colleagues. Predeceased by parents Bill and Edith, wife Josephine, son Terry, second wife Gladys and sister Vera. Lovingly survived by his daughter Joanne and husband Bob, grandchildren Samantha and Max, son Michael and wife Robin, grandchildren Sophia and Anna. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Stephens Catholic Church located on the corner of East 24th St and Mountain Hwy, North Vancouver. Reception to follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, Chuck has requested a donation to Lions Gate Hospital or the charity of your choice.
Thanks for the ride Dad. We love you.
