GOWAN, Thurlow John Abbott
Born November 28, 1912 in Dauphin, MB and passed away peacefully at Bevan Lodge on October 18, 2012. He is survived by three sister-in- laws, Gina Gushel of Regina, Ardiz (Duffy) Enger of Victoria and Doris Barrett of Abbotsford, as well as extended family and dear friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Vivian (December 2011). Thurlow was a teacher, musician and poet. He played the banjo and saxophone. Thurlow was a member of the MSA Poets Potpourri Society. He called himself the "Cascade Poet". Thurlow also enjoyed square dancing and was a past member of the Abbotsford "Grand" Squares Square Dancing Club. Thurlow was loved by all who had the privilege and honour of knowing a true gentleman in every respect. We will always love and miss our dear Thurlow. The family wishes to thank the staff of Bevan Lodge for the excellent care Thurlow received. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Bevan Lodge, 33386 Bevan Avenue, Abbotsford.
