It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather, George, on November 1, 2012, in his 79th year. Born in Magyarpolány, Hungary, George left during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, together with his fellow students and professors from Sopron University. George graduated from the UBC Faculty of Forestry, Sopron Division, in 1959 and shortly thereafter moved to Prince George, spending his career with Industrial Forestry Service. He moved to Port Moody to enjoy retirement in 1997. George is lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years Georgette, son George (Kirsten), daughters Bernadette and Natalie (Brian), and grandchildren Amelia, Jane, Mattias and Kate, on whom he doted. He is also survived by his sister Rozsi and other relatives in Hungary and Germany. George loved music and was happiest when there was an opportunity to sing. He enjoyed his time with the Gentlemen of Fortune Choir and the longstanding fellowship and service of the Rotary Club. George's family would like to thank the physicians, nurses, staff and volunteers at Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 6th at Our Lady of Hungary Church, 1810 East 7th Avenue, Vancouver, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to Crossroads Hospice or an organization of your choice. Rest in peace Dad, and thank you for everything. We love you and we will miss you.
