THOMPSON, John Andrew "Johnny"
Born October 6th, 1928 in Prince Rupert, B.C. and passed away December 7th, 2012 in Vancouver. Johnny was a very warm, friendly and outgoing man. To know him was to love him. He came to Vancouver in his early 20's from Prince Rupert and started his career in the automotive business. He ran Thunderbird Service on West 10th Avenue in West Point Grey for about 35 years until his retirement. His passions were his family, sailboats and cars. Johnny had a "car side manner" second to none. John is survived by his loving wife and best friend Moira, his three sons Trevor (Jongjit), Ron and Mike, grandsons Andrew (Stephanie), Daniel, Dylan, Kevin and Gary and granddaughter Alissa and great grandsons Mason and Bowen, cousins, nieces and his first wife Eve. His extended family; Clare, David and John and many friends. John was predeceased by her sister Jeanne Perdue. Thanks to all the staff at Amherst for taking such good care of Johnny in his last years. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Covenant House. A gathering of family, relatives and friends will be held at Tugboat Landing – 2010 East Kent Ave. Vancouver on 19 December at 2pm.
"Home is the sailor, home from the sea."
May his soul rest in peace.
