TYLER, Marjorie Joan

Marjorie Joan Tyler, 94, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2012 at Courtyard Gardens, Richmond with family at her bedside. Joan was born in Vancouver on December 11, 1918 and married Douglas Tyler in 1942. Joan and Doug travelled with their family throughout Canada and Europe during his military career before retiring in Tsawwassen. Joan enjoyed landscaping their home, nurturing her vegetable garden, travelling, caring for her dogs, and hosting frequent memorable family dinners. Joan loved her family and friends unconditionally, and always kept close contact with everyone in her life. She is survived by her children Suzanne (Bob) Johnston of Mill Bay, Peter (Berna) Tyler of Richmond and Wendy Joan (Steven) Kramer of Pebble Beach, CA., her grandchildren Matthew Kramer, Meredith (Nick) Salopek, Devon Tyler, Gradin (Karen) Tyler, and her great-grandchildren Brooks, Sage and Jaydee Salopek and Madison Tyler. A heartfelt thank you to Donna Allaby at Courtyard Gardens, for being a true long-time, compassionate friend to Joan. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Courtyard Gardens for their many years of exceptional care. A Celebration of Life will be held at Courtyard Gardens, 7051 Moffatt Road, Richmond on December 28th from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Richmond Rotary Hospice would be appreciated.
