It is with much difficulty and "immeasurable sadness" that the Payer and Dhillon families share that our dear and beloved Amanjit has completed her brave, courageous and spirited five year battle with cancer. Amanjit was born in Vancouver on April 15, 1957 and passed away peacefully, late on Feb. 2, 2013. She is survived by her loving family: husband Brian, sons Jarnael and Dakota, parents Harjit and Manjit, sister Sital, brother Karn (Christine) as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to the many people who have supported her journey including: The UBC Thunderbird Volleyball Sisters, the incredible staff at the VGH Palliative Care Unit, the wonderful oncology team at the BC Cancer Agency, the staff and doctors at View Medical in Tsawwassen, treatment specialists at GF Strong and the staff at Rogers Arena who made special arrangements last week so that she could attend Oprah. Funeral service will be held Wendesday, February 6 at 1 p.m., Riverside Funeral Home, 7410-Hopcott Road, Delta B.C. In lieu of flowers, it is the family's wish for donations to be made to the Ovarian Cancer Canada in memory of Amanjit Payer (Dhillon).
