It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jessie Charlotte Blanche Stringfellow. Mom passed away peacefully at Langley Hospital on January 30, 2013. She is survived by her son Bob Brown (Jeannie); daughters Shirley, Judy (Reg), Pattie (Al); son David (Cindy). There are 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her first husband Gordon Brown , second husband Fred Stringfellow, son Gordon, grandson Bobby, granddaughter Judy, twin sister Phillis, brother Ken, daughter-in-law Jeannette, parents Rose and John White. Mom was born in Minnedosa, Winnipeg in 1916. She moved to Vancouver with her two sons after her first husband was killed in WWII. Here she met dad and added four more kids to the family. They raised their family in Fleetwood, were active in the United Church and community. Retirement took them to Anglemont on the Shuswap Lake and again they were active in community events and the 'Pig n Whistle group. Many happy hours were spent at the lake were mom loved having her kids and grandkids come and stay. Mom was a strong, smart woman and her family was her pride and joy. She had a great sense of humour which never left her and dancing with Dad always made her happy. There will be a Celebration of Life on March 16 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Langley Golf Centre, 4343 216th Street.
