NIELSEN, Ketty Johanne Eleonora
August 3, 1919 - February 10, 2013
Ketty left this world peacefully in her hospital bed with her son John at her side. Ketty came to Canada in 1951 leaving her birthplace of Copenhagen, Denmark to start a new life with hopeful prospects for a good future for her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband Poul Nielsen of over 30 years in 2003. She will be sadly missed by her two sons Richard Eliasen (Kathy) and John-Allan Eliasen (Barbara); her grandchildren Lana Mihell (Steve), Noah Eliasen (Fiona), Jason Eliasen (Karlee) and Aleta Eliasen; her great-grandchildren Natasha, Aoife, Callum and Naviah and her godson Trevor Madsen. Ketty spent much of her youth active within the Salvation Army and continued to support them through life-long charitable donations. Her work was spent mostly in clerical positions as a bookkeeper and later as a condominium sales representative. She was very involved with the Junior Chamber of Commerce and fully supported her husband Poul when he became a senator in the organization. Ketty's greatest joy was her family. Her last thoughts were of them and how very much she loved them all. A memorial service will be held at noon February 22 at the Granley Danish Church, 9243 152nd Street, Surrey, B.C.
