Of Mission, passed away peacefully at Pleasant View Senior's home on February 5, 2013 at the age of 88. Fred is survived by his loving wife Rose, of 62 years, four children, Glen (Maxine), Reeann (Rob Price), Geordie (Melody) and Murray (Anne-Marie), six grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren. Fred was born near Durbin, Manitoba and settled in Vancouver after he had served in the 2nd World War as a guard for German prisoners in various places in Canada. He met his wife Rose and started their family in Vancouver. He worked in the Orthopedic Appliances department at Shaughnessy Hospital in Vancouver for 35 years making orthopedic shoes and appliances for war veterans. Fred was extremely good at making anything with leather and wood and he loved showing and riding horses. He was a very compassionate person who cared deeply for his family, friends and neighbours. Fred will be deeply missed.
