VAN TINE, William Robert
William "Bill" Van Tine passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the age of 93. He is predeceased by his first wife, Leona. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Kirsten; sons Jim (Elaine), Dusttin, Stan, and Gene (Irene); daughters Pam (Herb), Vigdis (Mark), Anita, and Hilde (George); grandchildren Jaison (Sarah), Alex, Andrea, Mathew, Katrina (Nick), Wesley, Laura, and Jeffrey (Starr); great-grandchildren River and Maximilian; sister Eleanor; brothers Doug (Aneta), George (Marjie). Bill, born in Montana, moved with his family to Ootsa Lake when he was 10 days old. He enjoyed country life, farming their land with a team of horses. With many careers in his lifetime, school bus driver, building supply manager to boat salesman and store manager, Bill was always a cowboy at heart. Always willing to lend a hand, he had a great ease and deep love for his wife and family. Bill had a keen appreciation for the outdoors, he loved fishing and hunting and loved to return to the Ootsa lake area. He was a big Canucks fan. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kazemi, doctors and nurses of Royal Columbian and Peace Arch Hospitals. We would also like to thank all our friends and family for their kind words and support. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at Arbor Chapel, Valley View Funeral Home, 14660 72nd Avenue, Surrey, BC on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Peach Arch Hospital Foundation.
