OBUCK, Jason John
July 7,1972 - February 16, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother and son Jason Obuck. He fought diabetes from the tender age of six years old, and the last three years valiantly battled kidney failure. Jason was on a waiting list for organ donation, but unfortunately deteriorated and sadly did not get his day. He was hospitalized in early October 2012 in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Paul's Hospital, where he fought his way out of a coma and eventually graduated to the general hospital population with the prospect of rehabilitation. Jason was an amazing inspiration to everyone and always maintained his incredible charm and joking spirit. He is loved by everyone and his friends are endless! Jason is predeceased by his beloved mother Charlene in 2010. He is survived by his loving family: father, Orest and siblings Tony (Hazel), Jennifer (Craig), Jonathan (Korryn) and nephews Jacob and Koehn, Auntie Heather (Leo) and cousin Lana. Jason was a gentle soul and the loss of him will be felt forever. Prayers will be offered at Saint Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 550 West 14th Ave, Vancouver on Thursday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 22, at 10:00 a.m. Burial to be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Burnaby at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please register online for organ donation and/or donations to the Canadian Diabetic Association.
