Robert Alexander Gourlay November 5, 1922 - April 27, 2013 Passed away peacefully in Burnaby, BC with his family by his side.

Bob is survived by his four children; Sheila, Bill (Antoinette), Barb and Ken (Noni), wife Jean, five grandchildren; Sara, Katie, Keone, Ella and Ian, two brothers, Doug and Don (Laurette). Predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.

Bob proudly served with the RAF in England and Europe during WWII and continued his military service after the war with the BC Regiment Army Reserve where he attained the rank of Major. The discipline and sense of duty he learned in the military never left him.

He received his Commerce degree from UBC and worked for thirty years as a chartered accountant for Alcan. His work took him and the family from Vancouver to Jamaica, then Montreal and finally, back to Vancouver. While working in Montreal, he courageously went back to university and earned his MBA degree from McGill.

Bob was a devoted father who loved his family very much. He was also very involved in community sports while his children were young. He received the key to the city of Beaconsfield, Quebec for his volunteer work in amateur sports.

Despite failing health in his final year, he proudly maintained his independence and dignity. He will be missed beyond measure by his surviving family.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Heritage Manor, 5379 - 205th Street, Langley on May 11th, 2013 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
