HOLLETT - Albert Victor James
Passed away peacefully in the early hours of July 11th, 2013. Predeceased by his wife of 68 years - Marjorie. He joined the Canadian Army in 1939 and served his country for 30 years rising to the rank of Captain. Serving in the Second World War in Europe, in post-war Japan, in the Korean War, Germany, Egypt and numerous other countries for the United Nations - he was one of the most travelled Officers to serve in the Canadian Army. Medals awarded - 1939-45 Star, France, Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Clasp, Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-45, United Nations Service Medal, Korea Medal, United Nations Emergency Force Medal, Elizabeth the II Coronation Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration & Clasp. He is survived by his daughter Dianne and sons Shane(Kim-Marie), Kim(Susan) and Jonathan(Yvonne) as well as 6 Grandchildren - Gary,Jennifer,Samantha,Kathleen, Darren and Kyle and 3 Great Grandchildren - Max, Lily and Ethan. We would like to thank the Port Moody Firefighters, Ambulance Attendants and the Nurses & Doctors at Eagle Ridge Hospital
