Marilyn Bennett January 16, 1944 - July 28, 2013 Marilyn passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, July 28th with the sun shining outside her window at the Delta Hospital, a place where she devoted many years of her life helping others. A beloved wife, mother and sister, Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Herb and Ruth Ellis. Left behind to miss and remember her are her husband of 47 years, Terry; her three children, Brenda, David and Jill; brother Gordon Ellis (Janet); grandchildren, nieces, nephew, and many, many others. Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, nurse and friend. She offered support to many who sought out her advice and kind words, and was known to deliver care packages of her signature cookies at just the right times. Marilyn grew up on Westham Island and was a proud member of the local farming community, calling the island home for most of her life. After retiring her nurse uniform, Marilyn volunteered at the Delta Hospital and the Legion Auxiliary. A service and celebration of her life will be held at the Ladner Baptist Church (5624 Ladner Trunk Road) at 1pm, Tuesday, August 6th. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Delta Hospital Foundation.
