The date Roy arrived and the date he left are not what is important here, it is the dash between those years that matters most of all. It's the memories of innocence, tea time with Granny, the rock on the hill where stories were told, the General Store to the corner church, schools, teachers and family and friends. It's the people he met on this journey and the places he met them. It's his courage, compassion, strength, love, spirit and smile. It's a mother's love unbroken. My son, I know you are happy and not in pain. I will always keep a place for you. My brother, you are with Dad and all those who have gone before. You are in good hands and watching over us.
Roy's Message -"With love and deepest gratitude, I wish to thank every person who has come into my life and inspired, touched and supported me through my journey. Be happy that I have Fought the Fight, Ran the Race and reached the finish line. We will meet again.
Serving communities for 43 years in various capacities, his passion and commitment were devoted to St. Paul's Hospital and QMUNITY. Volunteerism was a priority for Roy. Even up to his passing, he was not one to overlook an opportunity to recruit volunteers for the Vancouver Sun Run.
