Good evening Mrs. Dyck. I met your husband in the summer of 1979 at Malibu Club. I believe you were there at the same time. Your husband was very generous with his time and he did a fair amount of personal counseling with me. I was at Malibu for College Prep and I was struggling in a number of now unimportant ways. Gil was kind and patient and wise. I think of him often because I often tell people who I am mentoring that a wise man from my youth defined Humility as 'strength under control'. I always give Gil credit for introducing this bit of wisdom to me. Today I actually went to the internet to see if I might locate the old wise soul, but elas see that he passed a few years ago. I don't know if these messages still forward to you, but in case this missive does make its way to your computer, let my contact be yet another testament to what a kind man you lived your life with. God Bless, Skylar

Marion and Family
Just heard about Gil's passing a few days ago. Saddened to hear about the loss of one of my favorite people and a major reason behind my 40+ year attachment to RCH. As others have expressed he was a human face on what emergency medicine represents. A wonderful man who will be truly missed.I share your sorrow and will cherish many fond professional memories. My condolences and very best wishes. My thoughts are with you.

Gil, I will always remember you as the hardened, skilled and knowledgeable man I revered in my childhood on all those adventure holidays our families used to share together. You are the reason I love wilderness, star shows and camp fires so much. Thank you
