FADER, Howard George
Howard died peacefully on October 18, 2014 at the age of 91. He is survived by his loving wife, Vera (nee Loyns); son Rory; daughter Lorraine; son Henry (Diane); grandchildren Greta, Anthony, Laura, Kaitlin, and many nieces and nephews. Born in Royal Columbian Hospital to George and Lily Mae Fader (nee Atchison) on July 23, 1923 Howard grew up in East Vancouver and joined the Scouts whose members became lifelong friends. He served in the RCAF as an air frame mechanic. Discharged in 1946, he rejoined the BC Electric as Mechanic and Foreman, retiring in 1980. Howard and Vera married September 4, 1948, moved to Surrey in 1957 and spent the next 32 years pretending to be farmers. Oh, the adventures. Howard served in many capacities in St. John's Strawberry Hill United Church. He was a man of many talents: mechanic, plumber, electrician, carpenter, musician; he did his best to use those talents to make life richer for others. Howard loved to laugh. May he continue as he joins the celestial company of those who have gone before. He will be missed. A celebration will take place at Colebrook United Church 5441-125A St. Surrey BC at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014.
