Brian Terada Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Jan. 16, 2016.
Brian Leslie Terada Sept 24 1960 - Jan 6 2016 It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our dear Brian who passed away suddenly. Survived by his loving wife of 18 years Teresia LaRocque, son Kenny (5 yrs), loving mother Evelyn (George), father Naga (Sue) and many relatives. Predeceased by his brother Kenneth Terada. Brian was born in Vancouver and was truly a west coaster at heart, he loved the ocean and the mountains. He was a history enthusiast and loved music and cars, working in the car industry for almost 30 years, he was a passionate man but his true passion was for his family. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for a trust fund for Kenny LaRocque Terada or to the Children's Hospital. If making a donation for Kenny, please make your cheque payable to Teresia LaRocque ITF Kenneth Terada and mail to PO Box 72006 Sasamat, Vancouver BC, V6R 4P2. A private Celebration of Brian's life will be held at a later date. Sadly missed, much loved and never forgotten by all his family and friends.

I am very sorry for your loss. Brian and I became friends over the years. He sold me my first new car (I purchased another dozen or so through him afterwards). Brian was the only person I trusted in the car industry (and referred all of my friends to him). He was a great guy.

Dear Brian, You were a part of our family from the first day my Mum took care of you as a baby. So many childhood memories, getting into mischief as little kids together. You grew up to be fine gentleman, someone I was proud to know. We always stayed in contact, either through our Mother's or business. You always made time for Mum on those special milestones. You were a true friend and chosen member of our family. Heartfelt love to Teresia, Kenny and Evelyn.

I was shocked and devastated to learn of Brian's passing. He was a mentor to me in the auto industry and I was lucky to call him a friend for nearly 20 years. We talked nearly every business day mostly about life outside of work and our families. He loved Teresia and Kenny very much. Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair. Gone way to young. Rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened to hear that Brian has passed. I work in the automotive industry and Brian was a most trusted contact. Although I never saw him socially it is wrong to say that I only knew him professionally since he always spoke like a friend with genuine sincerity and a refreshing sense of humor. It was an undeniable privilege to have known him for any length of time, however short. Brian, you will be missed.

Good bye old friend. I lived life knowing our paths would cross again someday, as we stayed busy with our lives, and then catch up as if no time had passed at all. I will have to wait a little longer now before I am able to enjoy the privilege of your company and friendship. My heart goes out to your family, you had so much more love to share.

Brian you were a very dear friend to so many. You were so kind, thoughtful and would do anything to help someone. I have so many wonderful memories of the times we all spent together during our school years and the many years to follow. The love you had for all of your friends truly showed what an amazing man you were. You touched so many lives in such a positive way and we were all lucky to be a part of your way too short life. I still can't believe how you remembered to call so many people every year on their birthdays. But the love you had for your wife and young son was so much more, you beamed when you spoke of them, they were so lucky to have you as a husband and father. Rest in peace my friend. You will be greatly missed.
