February 21, 1933 – January 8, 2018
John passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital on January 8, 2018 at the age of 84 years. Born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan in 1933, and raised in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan where he founded his love of hockey. After serving his time in the Canadian Air Force, John made his way to Vancouver to join his brothers. Eventually, working side by side with two of them building houses for Materi Bros. After which, he worked for Dominion Construction until his retirement in 1992. John settled in Surrey, BC in 1973, where he resided until his passing. The family would like to send out a special thank you to the Dr.'s, nurses and staff in the Dementia ward at Surrey Memorial Hospital for their incredible care during his final days. A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. with funeral mass at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018, at St. Mathews Parish 16079 88th Avenue, Surrey, BC. Graveside service is to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 14644 72 Ave, Surrey, BC.
