James Woodrow "Jim" Campbell(1935 - 2018)

James "Jim" Woodrow Campbell, 83 of Nokomis, Florida, passed away at home on July 17, 2018.

Jim was born in Springfield, Ohio on May 1, 1935. He married Patricia (Pat) Basinger on December 27, 1965. Jim and his family moved from Lima, Ohio to Nokomis, Florida in 1974. Jim worked as a claims adjuster for Auto-Owners Insurance for 48 years.

In Jim's younger days he gave back to the community by volunteering as a coach for both Venice Vikings Football and Venice Little League Baseball. He loved restoring old automobiles; completely restoring a 1937 Studebaker, and a 1954 Ford Crestliner, identical to the first car he ever owned. Jim enjoyed traveling, woodworking in his garage, and spending time in the mountains of Murphy, North Carolina.

Jim is survived by his wife Pat of 52 years and sister Janice Gibson, Englewood, Ohio. Jim was extremely loving and proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kim Clymer, Anderson, South Carolina, her children, Jason (Michelle) Clymer, their children Jillian and Case Clymer; and Leann (Brian) Pinto, and their daughter, Vitoria; Kristie Campbell, Jupiter, Florida, sons Zachary Campbell and Zeth Campbell; Joel Campbell, Sarasota, Florida, daughter Domenica and Jill (Cubby) Wolfe, Sylva, North Carolina, sons Jonah Arfons and Grayson Wolfe. Numerous nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, "Woody" Campbell of McComb, Ohio; Lucille Campbell Plumm, Springfield, Ohio; and his sister Joyce Bibler of Rawson, Ohio.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 p.m. at Covenant Life Church, 8490 McIntosh Rd, Sarasota, Florida 34238 on Saturday, July 28th, 2018, with an old-fashioned ice cream social to follow at the Church.

Jim took immense pride in his Scottish Heritage. Therefore, the Campbell Family will scatter Jim's ashes on the Clan Campbell burial ground, Culloden Battlefield, Drumossie Moor, Inverness-shire, Scotland, a place that has significant meaning to Jim and Pat and the rest of the Campbell family.
