Menne, David Michael - Camarillo
David Michael Menne Camarillo, CA On the morning of April 26, 2016, David Menne passed away peacefully at his home in Camarillo, California. Born on January 15, 1934, in the original St. John's Hospital in Oxnard, California, David spent his formative years on the family ranch in Oxnard learning and loving everything about farming with his dad and brother, John. He attended Santa Clara Elementary School, Villanova Preparatory School and Ventura College. He proudly served two years in the U.S. Army. A farmer at heart, David spent over 65 years in the farming business with his brother. He loved the land and loved Ventura County. He served on several agricultural committees and boards over his many years in the business. David was known by several names, such as Jake, Dad, Papa, Uncle Dave, and even at times, Pancho. He had a love of family, fishing, horses and hunting, and was a devout USC fan. He was a crack shot at skeet, a golfer and a talented horseshoe player. Favorite pastimes also included being a longtime member of Rancheros Adolfo and of the Ventura County Sheriff's Posse. Spending time with family and friends was always David's first priority. He was the life of the party! He loved attending all his children's events, and later, those of his grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, and his sisters, Phyllis and Marilyn. He leaves behind his loving wife, Pat, of 54 years; two sons, Paul and Mark; two daughters, Mariette (husband Mike) and Suzanne (husband Donovan); his beloved brother, John (wife Carolyn); nine grandchildren, Nathan (wife Bailey), Molly, Nicolas, Samuel, Megan, Nicholas, Natale, Sophia and Nicole; many, many wonderful relatives and friends; and his faithful dog Max. As we drive through the lemon groves or get together with family and friends, David will be in our hearts. His love of life and zest for fun will be a memory we all hold dear. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Camarillo, (corner of Las Posas Rd. and Crestview Ave.). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Livingston Memorial VNA Hospice, 1996 Eastman Ave. #101, Ventura, CA 93003, or St. Mary Magdalen School, 2534 Ventura Blvd., Camarillo, CA 93010. Our entire family wishes to thank especially the loving, caring staff of Livingston Memorial Hospice and his caregivers, Lucy Ontiveras, Wendy Fells, Michelle Collins and Rosario De La Roca.
