Doris Jane "Dodi" Inks, of Ventura, died at home, surrounded by her loving family, Friday, April 9, 2010.
Born in Topeka Kan., Nov. 12, 1939 to Dain and Jenny Bouton, Dodi was an excellent student, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Washburn University. Dodi had a variety of interesting jobs that included working as a bookmobile librarian with her life long best friend Karen, various secretarial positions, and owning a convention coordinating business "Meeting Masters" in Topeka before moving to California in 1979.
She spent her entire career in California with Vitro Corporation, working her way up from a clerk/typist to being the Chief Security Officer, Safety Officer and Facility Manager, positions that she held at the time of her retirement.
After retiring she parlayed her love of antiques into a career as a certified antiques appraiser, the only one in Ventura County. Dodi was a collector of many things: Scottie dog items, Santa Clauses, books, friends and memories. She and Forrest loved to travel to visit friends and family.
Dodi is survived by her husband, Forrest and their children: Rhiannon, Lisa, Larry, John, Cindy and Nesha, their grandchildren: Kayla, Jace, and Gage, her sister Helen and brother in law Bill, many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and treasured friends.
The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, at Charles Carroll Funeral Home, 15 Teloma Drive in Ventura. Please wear something colorful in celebration of her life. She was a force of nature and on that day we can be her little flowers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to cancer research or hospice in her name.

To Forrest, Rhiannon and all Dodi's family and friends. The loss of my dear friend Dodi has left a big void in my life. She was always there to listen, support and encourage me at work and in my personal life. We shared our love of sewing, crafting, reading and antiques. A bright star in my life that I will aways remember and miss. May all your memories comfort you and bring you happiness.

Dear Forrest & Family
Rey and I are truly saddened to read today of Dodi's passing. We both worked with Dodi at Vitro and have many fond memories(and scoldings)of our time with her. She was always there for support, work and personal. Dodi started Rey with his Santa Claus collection. Every year he pulls them out he will remember her.
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
