Jerome Merlin Ardell Haugland 79, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Monday, October 5 2015, surrounded by his family.

Jerome leaves behind his loving, caring wife, Miki after 20 years of marriage. He is preceded in death by his Father Martin Olaf Haugland, Mother Anna JerginaHaugland and his eight siblings Marvin, Floyd, Martin Jr., James and Sisters Ruth Thompson, Myrtle Knudson, Margaret (Eve) Lund, and Marion Haugland. He is also survived by his Sister Vivian Simon and Brother Bernard Haugland and his children Michael Haugland, Jody Wood, Michelle Spencer, Eileen Cheri Taitano, Keala Tamashiro and Joel Concepcion as well as his 16 wonderful grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Jerome was born and raised in Thompson North Dakota along with his 10 brothers and sisters. He proudly dedicated 20 years of service to the US Navy as a Chief Petty officer (E7). After retiring from the US Navy he dedicated 20 years of service to Southern California Edison as Captain of Security.

In his retired life, before his illness took over, he loved spending time with his wife Miki and being with friends and family. His sense of humor and love of family will be deeply missed by all he touched.

There will be a visitation Friday, October 16, 2015 from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m at Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, 1075 E.
