Angel Aquino Diaz was born on May 5, 1943, and passed away August 3, 2013. He was a resident of Oxnard, Calif. After a courageous battle against cancer, he passed away at St. Johns Hospital in Oxnard, Calif. Angel was born in Noveleta Cavite, Philippines. At the age of 21 he joined the U.S. Navy and moved to the United States. He served the Navy and government for over 40 years before he retired in 2008.
Angel was the beloved husband of Belen S. Diaz for 45 years. He will be missed by his daughters, Grace Diaz, Leilani Ruiz and her son-in-law. He was also the grandfather to A.J., Kyle, and Layla that loved him very much.
Angel was one of nine children, and was loved by his brothers and sisters. He was a loving uncle to nieces and nephews, and was adored by his cousins, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. Angel loved to spend his days in his yard gardening and carpentering. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Angel was a role model to many and was always spoken of as a man who was so kind, generous, caring, and loving.
Friends and family are invited to attend the viewing on Saturday 10, and Sunday 11, from 2 to 9 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Conrad and James Reardon Mortuary in Oxnard. His memorial service will be on Monday 12, at 10 a.m., at the Santa Clara Church followed by the burial at Santa Clara Cemetery.
