Catherine Frances Brema (nee Quara), March 24, 1903 to Nov. 17, 2010.
Catherine, known affectionately as Grammy to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and so many friends, has left us after a long, full and faithful life to go to her Lord and once again be joined with her devoted and beloved husband, John Joseph, who passed away in 1991.
She leaves her son, Arnold, his wife, Marilyn, five grandchildren, Joanne, Cathy, Suzanne, John and Faith, and seven wonderful great-grandchildren.
Catherine was born in a little village in Northern Italy and came to this country in 1915 to join her mother and dad who had already come to the United States a few years earlier. She lived in New York City initially and there met her future husband, John Joseph. They were married on Jan. 7, 1928 and in 1937 moved to their first home in New Jersey.
After their son, Arnold, moved to California, they joined him and moved to Camarillo in 1968 where they bought the home they lived in until her passing. Catherine was a very active member of the Amaranth and rose to become the Most Worthy Matron of her Chapter. After retiring from active participation and the loss of her beloved John, she maintained contact with a number of members of several groups in that organization.
In March of 2010 she went to the Shoreline Healthcare facility in Oxnard because of continuing and increasing health problems where she was when the end came. She will be deeply missed by her family and her many friends, but will live on in our hearts forever.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Family Funeral Chapels in Camarillo, 482-1166.

Dear John.I read that your grandmother passed away. And it brought me back to 36 years ago.I always remember you walking into my moms funeral and how much it meant to me.So I want to take this moment to thank you for that. And to let you know that I am thinking of you and your family. If you ever come down south it would be fun to see you.I still see Paul once in awhile.
Take care John.
