Manny, age 50, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, surrounded by his loving family following a brave and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Benito Juarez, Zacatecas, Mexico on Oct. 5, 1960 to Francisco and Antonia Ruiz, and relocated to California in 1982. He was proud to become a U.S. Citizen in 2000 and during elections always asked "did you vote yet?" Manny was a loving husband and adoring father. He was a dedicated, loyal and hard worker and will be deeply missed at Pacific Manufacturing where he worked a total of 24 years.
If you needed someone to help, Manny was the guy to ask. Feisty and stubborn, he thought he was always right and would effectively argue the point to prove it. He was a man full of life. He loved his big family and, though miles separated some of them, he always kept in touch.
Manny is survived by his wife, Herminia; daughter, Guadalupe, 12; mother, Antonia; father, Francisco; brothers, Samuel, Jesus and Benjamin; sisters, Carmela and Virginia; as well as 14 nieces and nephews and one great-nephew.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., at the Garcia Mortuary Chapel in Oxnard. A Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 at Mary Star of the Sea Church in Oxnard.
