Raymond Ray Obituary

Raymond Carroll Johnson. Ray, age 82, of Fillmore, CA passed away January 22, 2015.

He was born April 3, 1932 in Great Falls, MT and grew up in Brady where he worked on his Uncle Dick Weikum's farm. Ray was a proud member and former officer of the Laborers' International Union, but his real love was racing cars, hence his nickname "Racy Ray." Always ready with a smile and a helping hand, Ray was a loyal friend known for his courage, fortitude and honesty. After living most of their adult lives in Spokane, WA, Ray and his wife Vivian moved to Fillmore in 2005 to spend more time with grandchildren and soak up the sun. Ray enjoyed gardening and many hours playing poker with the boys.

Beloved husband and father, Ray is survived by his wife Vivian, son Kurt, daughters Carol and Kim, and seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 3pm at Bardsdale United Methodist Church, 1498 Bardsdale Ave, Fillmore, CA. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Skillin-Carroll Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to diabetesresearch.org.
