Harriet Diane Churchill was born August 5, 1933 at Bismarck, North Dakota, to Neil O. and Helen Churchill. She lived in Bismarck through eighth grade and then moved with her family to Los Angeles where she attended Beverly Hills High School. She married Joseph Rapf in 1957. They lived in Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles where Diane worked in sales for Neiman Marcus, Robinsons, and Broadway Department stores. Her last five years were spent at Shoreline Care Center in Oxnard, CA, where she made many friends and was happy to call it home. She died December 8, 2013 of complications from pneumonia.
She is survived by her brother Randy Churchill and sister-in-law Jennifer; sister-in-law Marjorie Churchill; nieces and nephews Kevin Churchill, and children Brian David and Grace; Anne Valencia and husband Gilbert, and children Emily, Jackson, and Sophia ; Neil T. Churchill; Gregory and Beth Churchill, and children Ryan, Caitlin, Conner, Dominick, and Victoria; and Christopher and Karen Churchill and children Lucas, Julian and Miranda. Besides her parents, Diane is preceded in death by brother Neil C. Churchill, sister Kathlyn Reynolds, and nephew Brian Eric Churchill.
The Churchill family wishes to express special thanks to Shoreline Care Center and Cindy Poulsen for the care and comfort Harriet received, and to her companion Walter Bellesteros.
