As it is I been missing you and now knowing Im not ever going to see you again it's hard and it hurts. For my father Alex;
When I come to the end of my journey and I've traveled my last weary mile;
just forget, if you can, that I ever frowned and remember only the smile;
Forget unkind words I may have spoken and remember some good I have done;
Forget that I ever had heartache and remember I've had lots of fun;
Forget that I stumbed and tripped, and sometimes fell by the way;
and forget to grieve my passing, I would not want you sad for a day.

I love and miss you so much dad! Thank you for letting me always know how much you love me and keeping it real. You will forever be in my heart.
Love, your hija
Monica

To the family of Alex.......I will not forget the kindness and warmth that Alex showed at the reception following my husband's (Leroy) funeral. If I could judge the measure of a man from that one occasion, I would say he was very special.

This is what I'd say to Alex if I could....
Alex, I knew you since we were 16 yrs old and saw you change in so many ways, but the one thing that remained the same was the love, loyalty, compassion and generousity you had for your brothers and their families. Even if you guys were mad at each other! I saw this when I needed it most, when the girls I had to get thru the loss of Joe. The hardest thing I had to face was having to go to the hospital to identify his body and w/out hesitation you stood up and said "come on Ruth, I'll take you and I'll stay w/ you, I won't leave you alone." And you did just that, you literally held me up thru out the whole process. You took charge of the arrangements for Joe's funeral. And frequently came by the house w/ your mom and checked on me, and Veronica and Lisa to make sure we had groceries and the utilities were paid. I remember how your face lit up the day I called you "Chebop" and you said you had'nt heard that name since Joe passed away. Well brother, I'm guessing you're hearing it now:) Thank you for being there for us when we needed you most. We will be forever grateful to you... and cherish the memory of you. This is the Alex I choose to remember. And like mija Veronica said "one day we will all walk the streets of gold together in the presence of HIS glory." Til then, bye for now Chebop, Ruth
