Alexander Pareja Copon, age 60, of Oxnard, California died peacefully, surrounded by his loving, devoted family, on Saturday, January 11, 2014.

Alex, as he was known to family and friends, was born on April 24, 1953 in Cavite, Philippines. At age 16, he and his family relocated to the United States, settling in Ventura County. In 1994, Alex met and married the love of his life, Roselle Ferrer, and built their life together with their two beautiful daughters, Shawn and Alexa, in Oxnard, California. Alex was known as a thoughtful, quiet man with a big heart and a calming way about him. He loved classical rock, exquisite cars and was always dressed in his cool, casual style. Above all, Alex loved being with and caring for his loving family. We will love and miss you, always.

Alex is survived by his adoring wife, Roselle, son - Jason and his wife, Melissa; daughters - Shawn and Alexa; grandson - Parker; father - Ricardo, Sr.; siblings (spouses) - Deacon Ric (Sylvia), Ella (Danny), Amer (Sherwin), Marlyn (Mar), and Ferdee. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Consolacion.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 16 from 4-8 p.m., at Santa Clara Mortuary (2370 North H Street, Oxnard), and Friday, January 17, 2014 from 2-9 p.m., at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Parish Hall (463 West Pleasant Valley Road, Oxnard) with a Vigil and Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, with a reception at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Parish Hall.
