Barry Edward Coyle, 63, a highly regarded consultant in the contract furniture industry, passed away peacefully on the evening of Nov. 15, 2010, at his home in Ojai in the company and care of his wife, Gayle Wyborny, and their son, Brian Coyle. He was a model of courage, thoughtfulness, good cheer and productivity while living with cancer that was first diagnosed about a year earlier.
Barry E. Coyle was born May 1, 1947 in Washington, D.C. Following graduation from Stanford University with a B.A. in economics, Barry joined the Ventura County Library Services Agency as an administrative officer. During the 1980s and early 1990s, as a dealership and, later, an installation-firm executive in Los Angeles, Barry pursued the ground-breaking work of developing installation estimating prototypes and economic models for dealer and installation businesses, analyses that later took the form of workbooks still regarded as standard industry references.
In addition to Gayle Wyborny, his wife of 29 years, and his son, Brian Coyle, a resident of Ventura, he is survived by Karen Coyle, a sister in Berkeley; Heather Murphy and Todd Murphy, a sister and brother-in-law in San Luis Obispo, and their children Kyle Murphy and Mikayla Murphy, also of San Luis Obispo.
He will also be remembered with special affection by surviving classmates in the Ventura High School graduating class of 1965.

Barry was an acquaintance from our days at Will Rogers' Elementary. I remember him with his slight, playful grin and dry sense of humor.

Barry's parents, Ed and Selena, were very proud of their kids, and spoke often of Barry. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.
