MAY 7, 1927- NOV. 9, 2010
Our loving mother, Celia B. Hernandez (NANA), was taken to join our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 9, 2010. Celia was surrounded by her family when the Lord came to take her. Celia was born on May 7, 1927 in Toyah, Texas to Alexandro and Elfida Bitolas. Celia now joins her son, Armando.
She is survived by her husbands, Manuel Hernandez and Cornello Castro; daughter, Norma (Bonnie); sons, Richard and Gilbert. She also leaves behind four grandsons, nine granddaughters, eight great-grandsons, six great-granddaughters, and one great-great-grandson.
Celia's heart and home was always open to family and friends. Family was very important to Celia, especially their well being. For that reason Nana had an open door policy. Nana loved to dance and sing. Celia also enjoyed her Tecate with lemon and salt! WE WILL MISS OUR MOM, GRANDMOTHER, WIFE, AUNT, COUSIN, SISTER, AND FRIEND!!! Celia was a devout Catholic, belonging to Saint Rose of Lima since moving to Simi Valley in 1967.
Memorial service will be at 12 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 1305 Royal Ave., Simi Valley, CA 93065; 526-1732.
