Earnest M. Emery, born March 24, 1923, died at Cottage Hospital on Oct. 24, 2010 after a valiant battle against cancer.
Born in Indiana, he served our country during World War II as an Army AirCorps bush pilot in Alaska. After marrying a Canadian girl, Earnie completed his degree in chemical and mechanical engineering at UCLA in 1950. He enjoyed a successful career in manufacturing and management, culminating at E2Technology, Ventura as Founder, President and CEO. He retired to Clear Lake, Calif., developing an 80 acre Ranch.
Earnie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Caroline, and his daughter, Adele (and Bill) Lambert of Buffalo, N.Y. He was predeceased by his son, Larry (Deidre) Emery of Ventura. He will be greatly missed by his five grandchildren: David Lambert (Texas), Rhoda (Lambert) Ryan (Florida), Miriam Lambert (Texas), Bryce and Skyler Emery (Oregon), and his four great-grandchildren: Timothy and Joshua Lambert, Charis and Titus Ryan. He will be missed by his sister-in-law, Adelle Byer; his nephew, Brian (Michele) Smatko; and niece, Monica (Harry) Johnson.
The viewing will be 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral Chapel, 15 E. Sola St., Santa Barbara. Viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. and Mass to follow on Friday, Oct. 29 both at San Roque Catholic Church, 3200 Calle Cedro, Santa Barbara.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Folsomdale Baptist Church, 1366 Folsomdale Road, Cowlesville, NY 14037 where his son-in-law is the Pastor.

Earnie I am going to miss you, but I know I will see you again! May Christ who called you lead you home into paradise. You are such a wonderful person to talk to. I remember you always had the answer to every question. I will see you in heaven Earnie, but until then may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
