Uncle Emil has always been a special part of our family. I have enjoyed our times together. Over the last few years I have really appreciated his efforts to visit Dad. I remember many years ago Uncle Emil came to Wheaton to help my dad finish the attic rooms so we could sell our house and move to California. And he took good care of Grandma and Grandpa when he got them to move to California to be near the rest of the family. He was a very caring person and lived a good life. I am so sorry that I am not with all of the family in Ventura today to pay tribute to him but my heart is with you

I was fortunate to have my father in my life for 55 years. I loved his philosophy on life and miss him dearly. I'll quote the last line of the Prayer of St Francis: "...and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life'. We both knew it and believe that we'll be reunited in heaven!

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same: but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Good bye to a Father of 8, Grandfather of 9, Great Grandfather of 6.
