Eugene Owen Aday went to a better place on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 at Los Robles Regional Medical Center, Thousand Oaks, at age 76, surrounded by family and friends for the passing into the beginning of his life.
Born on Feb. 21, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio, by Owen and Mildred Aday, he would be the second of nine children. Eugene joined the United States Navy in 1951 aboard the U.S.S. Hector and participated in the Korean War. He completed service in 1955 with U.S. Naval Reserve till 1959. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the United Auto Workers, as well as the National Rifle Association.
Although he had many hobbies, his favorite was fishing anywhere, anytime. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing practical jokes on family and friends alike. In his spare time off from his job, he made sure that there was some form of fun going on, be it camping in the desert or mountains, finding sea life at the tide pools, or dancing with his wife.
Survived by his wife, Madylene, of 53 years marriage; daughters, Debra, Darlene and husband Terry, Madylene and husband Will; his grandchildren, Candace and husband Jesse, Karlie, Benjamin, Justin, Gabrielle, Chrissy, Jacob; and great-grandchildren, Tyson and soon to be Jace.
A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held today, Friday, Oct. 1, at Riverside National Cemetery at 12 noon. Assisting the family with funeral arrangements is the family owned and operated Rose Family Funeral Home & Cremation, our family helping yours, 581-3800.
