I miss you so much Pito: going to church will not be the same. the holidays are here and they will be full of sadness this year, but we'll get by: I'm not crazy about the holidays; now I will not like them even more. I feel so sad right now. for all of us who were with him when passed, but one day will see him again.

Nino,
I am so grateful that my Mother and Father chose such a great man to baptize me.
I remember the days on Fornier, as a child, and the continued partying on Laurel, as my sister and I played with Darlene and Elena the laughter between our Fathers could not be ignored. You were a good friend to my Father George all the way to the end and now you, Teddy, Vincent and my Dad are laughing together again.
Someone so special... can never be forgotten... thank you for being you.
Virginia,
May God's blessings and peace be with you and your wonderful family during this difficult time.

There once was a baby brother who stood at the foot of his big brother's death bed. At the foot of that bed, the baby brother pledged to his dying big brother to always watch over his family...
Tio Pito, you have fufilled your promise to my dad. I consider myself blessed to have been born your niece. Blessed to know you. Blessed you are such a huge part of my family's life. Not a day will go by when I won't think of you...We have so many wonderful memories to remember you by; the day you became Steven's nino, the camping trips with bears, working with Ed to put up the walls in my house, calling you and asking you how to fix something, birthdays, being at the hospital everyday when my mom was at Cottage, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, pozole breakfast at my house, the entire Tejada row at church...you became my father figure as I grew into an adult...
You've made your stamp on our hearts. Because of you, we know family is forever. And for that, I am eternally grateful. You've done good on your promise to my daddy. I wish you peace and I can't wait until the day all my family meets again in heaven.
Love,
Edward, Danielle, Poca & Steven Sanchez

Pito, you were my big brother and good friend growing up. I'll miss you dearly and will always remember our camping trips, your parties and when you and Leonard would make me carry the newspaper carrier full of feed from 'Feed and Seed' for your animals (back on 'G' street, even though you told me not to tell tia you did :), hearing you practice your bass guitar for your band 'CALIENTE', and working on your white and baby blue lowrider...so many memories. Thank you for being in my life, love your cousin Coody.
Our prayes go out to Virgina, the girls and kids, the Tejada family and all my numerous cousins that knew him well, loved him and will miss him.
Love, Liz, Arnold, Jonathan, Brandon, Cameron and Hanna Yanez.

I wish I was there to speak with my Tio one last time before he passed, but sometimes life doesn't work that way. But when he joined my Tio Tutu and my Nino Teddy, It hurt me deeply inside to lose him, but I was also glad that his suffering was over. My Tio meant alot to me, he mentored me like a father, it was because of him that I learned and enjoyed being a Mechanic. It was because of him that I joined the Army and stayed in this long, because I knew he was proud of me. And it was also because of him that I enjoyed Fishing (Especially Deeps Sea Fishing). I will Miss him greatly, even though I know he never left our sides. I love you eternally Tio Pito...God will take good care of you now...and party it up with the rest of the family thats up there with you now.
With Un-Ending Love,
SGT. Robert J. Vela
