James Murray Obituary

On November 10, 2010, James (Jim) went home to be with the Lord. Jim was born to the late Elmer and Nadine Murray February 17, 1937 in Valier, Illinois.

He grew up in Illinois and graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1959. Soon after college, he was drafted in the Army Reserves for 6 years. Jim married Roberta and they lived in St. Louis, Mo. before moving to California in 1966. Jim became a partner in an investment firm in Los Angeles; in 1981 he moved the business to Ventura. He loved adventure and getting his private pilot's license and owning a Harley were his dreams come true. His spirited conversations at the dinner table were enjoyed by all.

Surviving is his wife Roberta, daughter Denise (Jeff) Chandler of Newport Beach, Calif. and son Todd (Charlotte) of Sunol, Calif. His six grandchildren were Lauren, Alexandria, and Jacob Chandler and Thomas, Sarah and Elan Murray. He has one sister Joanne Eaton of Illinois and many nieces and nephews.

Roberta,
I know this is a difficult time but just as you were there for me know that I am here for you. Please call anytime. As they say "time heals all wounds". It's true. You'll find your peace with all of this and will learn to enjoy life. Not as it was but what you make of it. I'm hoping that later we can have lunch or dinner together.

Love, Nancy
