The world lost a wonderful man named Joe Heathcote, age 62, of Jacksboro, Texas on Dec. 7, 2010 in Witchita Falls, Texas.
Visitation for Mr. Heathcote took place from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10 at Coker Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by family and friends.
Mr. Heathcote was born June 13, 1948 in Inglewood, Calif. He was the son of the late Donald Isaac and Inid Yvonne Fowles Heathcote. He was a retired civil engineer for the United States Navy. He also served in the United States Air Force. Memorials may be sent to the Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by son, Richard Heathcote, and daughter, Joanne Heathcote, both of Jacksboro; sister, Betty Ricks of Preston, Idaho; brothers, Donnie Heathcote of Utah, and Jim Heathcote of Oxnard; and grandson, Eian Brown of Oxnard.

Joe , I enjoyed or bike trips and trying out different doggie diners along the way. I'll be thinking about you every time I go out on the the motorcycle or stop at some little out of the way restaurant for lunch.

Joe was a funny guy who loved his family, and though we will miss him, he left a beautiful legacy behind in his children and grandchild. Richard, Jojo, and Eian take comfort in each other. My heart goes out to you both.

Joe...although its been a few years since we've seen each other, I was very happy to be able to see you last week via FaceTime and to see the smile on your face when you were talking to your grandkids...You have been a big part of my life for 31 years and I feel like I've lost a family member losing you. I love you to pieces and know that you are looking down on all of us...thank you for taking in Nia and Moses as if they were own...Rest in Peace Papa Joe...we love you! Cathy and Bobby are taking care of you now!! <3 P.S. Eian will be well taken care of!

I think I have only met Joe once in my life, but from all the great things people have said about him he is a really great man, I wish I could have met him more but I know that I will see him again and that I will get to know him more!!
