Ken Littlefish Obituary

Our beloved Ken Littlefish passed away last Friday, March 2.

Kenneth Harold Littlefish Durant was born to Leonard Durant and Maxine (Stanley) Durant April 12, 1946 in Chicago, Ill. He was of the Ojibwe Nation, enrolled at White Earth, MN. About 1985, Kenneth walked onto the sundance road and lived in his spiritual commitment for the rest of his life. He was ordained a minister of the Native American Church in 1988. Wherever he lived and traveled, a community of spirit grew around him. He is sorely missed. Spirit called him home March 2, 2012.

Kenneth lived near Port Angeles with his wife Nancy and his daughter Mashkiki and is also survived by three sons, two adopted daughters, three nieces, two nephews and a vast extended family.

All are invited to join us this Sunday, March 11, at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura from 2-5 p.m. for a drum tie and potluck. (Seaward to Foothill, right, to just before Day Rd. $2 parking.

Nancy and Mashkiki- my heart is with you and I send my love, my prayers, my utmost condolences for your loss. I know that you hold the essence of Ken within you, always within you... and that those of us who knew him and loved him will continue to hold him up to the light, giving thanks for his being, and honoring the things that he shared with us at different junctures of his/our lives. He was godfather to my son Kahlo, who passed 3 years ago, and perhaps now, they will join and work together for us from the other side. I will never forget him, nor you, sister and niece. Know that your extended family is here in New Mexico and you are welcome to spend time with us to rest and heal. I wish I were there to do for you...love, Kathy
