Mrs. L.V. Jackson, 82, of Lubbock, passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010. She was born Nov. 27, 1927 in Lucy, Tenn.
She moved to Memphis, Tenn., where she met and married Leon T. Jackson, Sr. who preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1982. She moved to Lubbock, Texas, six months ago, where she lived with her oldest daughter, Dorothy, until her death.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one aunt, Mrs. Savannah; one grandson, Roderick Jackson; and one sister, Marcelle Currie.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Dorothy Jackson and James Driver of Lubbock, Texas, DeLois Anderson, Savan and Tommy English all of Cartersville, Ga., Leslie and Craig Breland of Wiggins, Miss., Debra and Vance Riley of Okinawa, Japan, Wanda and Andre Moore of Belleville, Ill., Leon Jr. and Lisa Jackson, Roland and Rebecca Jackson all of Cartersville, Ga.; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Ms. Rose L. McCoy; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Camino del Sol Memorial Center and Funeral Home, 200 North C St., Oxnard. Interment will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura, under the direction of Camino del Sol Memorial Center and Funeral Home. Final arrangements entrusted to Griffin Mortuary, Lubbock, Texas 79403, and Camino del Sol Memorial Center and Funeral Home.

Dorothy. I am really sad to hear of the loss of your mother. I was your insurance agent. My parents where Ike and Clara Taylor. We too where from Nashville and Memphis. My deepest condolences in the lost of your Mother. I remember when the family lived two doors from my parents, Gus and Johnnie Tacker and Mr. Jackson was my Father's best friend.May you cherish her memories as she now rest in peace.
