Mark Laru Bennett, 73 passed away unexpectedly June 21, 2012 surrounded by many of his loved ones.

He was born in Clayton, Missouri on July 13, 1938 to Jackie and Hollis Bennett. He proudly served in the Navy for 21 years retiring from NAS Point Mugu July 1975 at the rank of Senior Chief. Mark owned and operated his own successful business for over 20 years before retiring, and was a resident of Oxnard for 39 years.

He enjoyed reading novels, researching his lineage, and making picture and video mementos for his family and friends. Mark took pride in his home and enjoyed his routine of keeping it in great condition. He was the most thoughtful man, very organized and meticulous in all his actions. Mark told about his life memories and had many younger friends whose lives he enriched with his knowledge and kindness.

He is survived by his brother Gene, daughter Shari, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a number of friends that he considered his family. Mark will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
